Climate change continues to affect communities across Ethiopia through recurrent droughts, flooding, environmental degradation, water insecurity, and increasing pressure on natural resources. These challenges undermine health, food security, education, livelihoods, and community wellbeing, particularly for women, children, pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations.

Since 2009, alignAfrica has partnered with communities, government institutions, schools, civil society organizations, research institutions, and development partners to strengthen climate resilience through integrated programmes that combine climate adaptation, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), disaster risk reduction, environmental restoration, and community resilience.

Rather than implementing stand-alone interventions, we work alongside communities and local institutions to strengthen systems, improve essential services, and build practical, locally led solutions that help communities anticipate, adapt to, and recover from climate-related challenges.
