AlignAfrica is a locally rooted, community-led development and humanitarian organization advancing sustainable development, humanitarian action, resilience-building, and inclusive systems transformation across Ethiopia and Africa.
Founded in 2009 and registered in Ethiopia under Registration Number 2717, alignAfrica partners with communities, governments, civil society organizations, INGOs, UN agencies, donors, foundations, academic institutions, and private sector actors to deliver accountable, evidence-informed, community-centered, and locally owned solutions in fragile, underserved, climate-affected, and displacement-affected contexts.
For more than 15 years, alignAfrica has strengthened local systems, expanded opportunity, protected vulnerable populations, and supported sustainable recovery through integrated humanitarian, development, peacebuilding, and community-led resilience approaches.
Across Africa, millions of people continue to face poverty, displacement, climate shocks, inequality, unemployment, food insecurity, conflict, and limited access to quality services and economic opportunity.
At the same time, humanitarian needs are increasing while local systems remain under pressure.
Yet communities are not lacking resilience, innovation, leadership, or local solutions. Too often, they lack equitable investment, trusted partnerships, institutional support, and sustainable systems capable of driving long-term progress and inclusive recovery.
